Blockchain as a screwdriver

In the middle of January I was at the startup: NIGHTS guest speaker in Essen (Germany) and gave a lecture about my research topic. The title of the lecture – “Blockchain – the myth, the reality, the future” – already suggested that both the history and the current developments should be treated here. The topics presented in the Coworking Cafe KaBü I summarized for the blog of the Ruhr: HUB again.

Here is a short excerpt:

„A blockchain is seen by many critics as a hammer with which one tries to fasten a screw. It works somehow, but actually there are much faster and better methods. On the other hand, you can also see a blockchain as a screwdriver, which is slower than, for example, a cordless one, but is still a better choice in some cases.“ – Maximilian Topp 01/19
